Published specifications

Global describes the G-2 as a 20 cm cook’s knife for slicing, chopping and dicing. Its stainless handle and dimpled grip distinguish it from the wood or moulded handles on other knives in this shortlist.

What to check in person

Try the handle if possible. Check where your fingers sit, whether there is enough knuckle clearance, and how the balance feels in your own grip. I have not tested the handle or compared its cutting feel with Tojiro or MAC.

Buying considerations

Consider it if you specifically prefer this handle and blade format. If the grip does not suit you, the recognisable design is not a reason to keep it. Compare exact models and delivered prices.

Care

Hand-wash and dry the knife after use. Use a stable wood or food-grade plastic board and protect the edge in storage. Avoid bones, frozen food and prying. Follow the maker’s sharpening guidance; a single medium-grit stone can be enough to begin routine sharpening. A strop is optional.
